I took a few tears to write this post… But that just confirms it for me. I love you all!

November 2009

Life in General:

November was a very hectic month. And as it wasn’t enough I got myself another internship company. But all in all I am satisfied with what November gave me.

Friends:

Sanna, Lorraine, Jenny and I gathered up in Jennys kitchen for some brainstorming about the spring which will include individual final projects for school, a collective blog and an event in may. We had lots of fun and got some really good ideas.

During a visit in Norrköping I enjoyed an evening at Världens Bar together with Pernilla, Stefan, Alice and Anna. And when Stefan visited Stockholm I had dinner with him.

In the end of the month, the first weekend in advent started with a 60’s party at Sanna’s place. The day after I took the train to Gnesta to spend the rest of the weekend at Josefin‘s and Björn‘s house for some pre-christmas-celebration or something. Nice people, nice food, nice mulled wine and nice Christmas songs.

Family:

My aunt Marianne and cousin Anna visited me again for another weekend with Millennium and gospel. We watched Flickan som lekte med elden at the cinema and went to a Kirk Franklin concert in Ericsson Globe.

I also visited my family i Norrköping for a weekend.

LiA:

In the middle of November I lost control over my internship when I worked faster than expected at Tredje Statsmakten. I solved the problem by doing the rest of the internship at Habit 50% of the time while I stayed at Tredje Statsmakten 50% of the time.

Work:

Together with my co-worker Birgitta I was at the Habit Fashion Awards in the Blue Hall in Stockholm City Hall where she was nominated as the best seller in Sweden. To bad she didn’t win but in my eyes she is the best anyway. We had a wonderful evening at the awards and atleast Birgitta will remember that for the rest of her life. I borrowed Lorraine’s camera for this evening and I am very grateful for that, but afterwards I regretted that I didn’t bring my own camera, ’cause then I would’ve had better photos now.

Social Media:

I participated in the Autumn competition at skyltat.se which I later won, I also blogged about my classmates on Twitter and ended up on Niclas Strandh‘s first list of blogging tweeps.

In the end of the month when the fashion store Urban Outfitters terminated all its staff the owner of their swedish domain name used social media in a try to help the employees. I wrote a pretty long blog post about that aswell.

Trips:

The trips I made during the month weren’t very far, one to Norrköping and one to Bondhälla (outside Gnesta).

Film:

As I wrote above I watched Flickan som lekte med elden in November. The film was good, but it shone though that it was made for TV and not for cinema.

Music:

I created a Christmas list on Spotify and let my tweeps add their favourite to it. Here is the result.

It seems like I didn’t take any pictures with my beloved camera during November. Therefore, I have no picture of the month in this post. Unbelievable.

July 2009

Life in General:

In July most people are having vacation, but that’s the month when I worked the most.  I lived in Norrköping the entire month and realized that I missed Stockholm.

Friends:

I visited Alice and her parents in Linköping and melted when she fell asleep in my arms. When I went home to Stockholm for just a weekend I met up with Jenny and when we had decided to meet up with Peter and Adam we ended up at a rave party. Odd, I know.

Family:

I lived at my parent’s house the entire month and together with them I went to the castle in Örebro for a family reunion with all descendants of my mother’s grandparents.

Work:

I worked really hard this month at Lagos Mode, both in the store and with the blog, at the expense of my personal blog which wasn’t very updated during July.

Trips:

As written above I made two trips in July, one to my home in Stockholm and one to Örebro.

I caught Jenny when she was eating candy at work. Look how guilty she looks ;)

I missed Stockholm in July and went here when I had a weekend off work. I took a walk at Södermalm where I also took some photos.

June 2009

Life in General:

June was the month when I packed seven bags to go to Norrköping and live at my parents place for the summer, while being there I realized that I am a real stockholmer since I missed Stockholm a lot. I also turned 27  and celebrated my birthday in the garden with my family and the day after with my friends in Ljungsbro.

Friends:

At our national day 6th of June it was time for a new party at Lidingö together with Lorraine, Sanna, Susanna, Jenny and Elisabeth. Great fun but what happens on the island, stays on the island.

I celebrated the Midsummer holiday at Björn and Josefin‘s place, Bondhälla. Probably the best midsummer holiday I have ever had.

25th of June Stefan and Pernilla got a daughter. A really cute girl, called Alice. She is the closest child I know and I really like to play and cuddle with her. And since she is the first child among the closest friends, she is really spoiled.

Two days after Alice was born it was time to celebrate mine and Andreas birthday at Anna and Andreas house in Ljungsbro. It was a nice party with a lot of nice people.

Family:

My brother visited me for the first time since I moved to Stockholm at the national day. It was a really short visit though since we had separated plans for the evening.

School:

My first year at Medieinstitutet ended in the beginning of June with a really nice lecture by Teo Härén about creativity. I also received a lot of praise from my teacher in journalism which made me re-think about my future.

Work:

In June I went back to work at Lagos Mode in Norrköping. I enjoyed working again and meeting old and new customers. I also ran around with my camera and photographed my co-workers for the summer blog. In the beginning of the month I also worked as a presider at the election for the EU parliament.

Social Media:

In June I started to use social media at work for the first time when I set up the summer blog at Lagos Mode. I really enjoyed working with the blog and I learned a lot meanwhile.

Me posing for the summer blog.

Trips:

As soon as the spring term was over Elisabeth and I went to Barcelona to get some sun and nice shopping. We had really fun together in Spain. I miss you and your crazy antics Elisabeth.

After I had “moved” to Norrköping for the summer I also made a trip to Vimmerby for a meeting with the big boss, Mr S. On the way there I also visited Sandströms in Vimmerby and Kisa.

Society:

The Pirate Party got over 7 percent of the swedish votes in the election for the EU parliament and Michael Jackson died and was mourned by a whole world.

Boardgames:

Andreas and Anna gave me Chez Goth as a birthday present. It’s a shame I haven’t played it yet but I brought it to Stockholm and I haven’t found any boardgame partners there.

May 2009

Life in General:

May was the month when my blog got a big revamp, I flied with an aeroplane for the first time since 2000 and I cut my hair and lost 5kg according to the hairdresser.

Friends:

I played softball with a wig in the Drottningholm castle area along with Jenny and her friends. It was really fun and I hope we’ll do it again this year.

Family:

In May my mum turned 60 and celebrated her birthday together with me on Crete.

My mum and I on her birthday.

My mum and I on her birthday.

School:

I was totally bored in school and had no motivation what so ever after coming back from my first internship period. The only good things in school this month were the lectures and workshops with Johan Lange.

LiA:

I made a little comeback at my internship company when they arranged Habit Fashion Summit at Grand Hôtel. While being there I was blogging in the Habit blog.

Social Media:

In May I finally set up this wordpress blog, something I did way to late. My old blog survived for to long really. This was also the month when I got to understand how useful Twitter is. I started to follow more interesting people and got to know my first tweeps.

Trips:

The month started with a trip to Crete together with my mum. We had a nice week even though it started with 3 days of rain…

In the end of the month I also made a little trip to my home county Östergötland.

Sports:

I started training again and I really enjoyed it. Running along the beach in the sunrise at Crete was lovely.

Books:

May was the month when I started to read Dreams from my father by Barack Obama. A book I haven’t finished yet. I only have about 50 pages left though ;)

With spring -10 in mind

Yesterday my classmates Sanna, Lorraine, Jenny and I gathered up in Jennys kitchen for some brainstorming about the spring. And we had a good evening, where we were totally spitting out ideas. We were bouncing ideas about our individual final projects which we will do during the spring term. We discussed a little side project which we hopefully will start to work with as soon as possible. And we also started to plan for an upcoming event in May. I don’t know how much I can write about anything of this yet but I do know that I will blog more about it during the spring. Keep your eyes open, because this will be interesting stuff.

All in all, we had a great Saturday with great discussions. We also realised that we can have fun a Saturday night without party and lots of alcohol involved, something I welcome with open arms.

My summer weekend in Stockholm

When I came to Stockholm and my apartment Friday evening I was pretty tired after a hard week at work so I was just chilling at home. I woke up pretty early Saturday morning and went to a nature reserve close to where I live. It’s called Judarskogen and there is a lake called Judarn. It was wonderful to be in the nature and I took a lot of photos. Here is one of them.

Judarskogen

When I came back home I took a shower and went to Södermalm where I had lunch before I took a walk at what we call Söders höjder. From the hills I photographed some of  the beautiful views of Stockholm.

After my walk at Södermalm I walked over Skeppsbron to Kungsträdgården and Gallerian where I bought ice-cream at the best ice-cream shop in Stockholm called Montis. While eating the ice cream Jenny called me up and said that Peter and Adam where at a party at Långholmen and asked me if I wanted to join with her. Said and done, I went home to eat something and get ready for some party.

When Jenny and I arrived it appeared to be a rave party. I have never been to a rave party before so that was a new experience for me but it was fun and the atmosphere was wonderful. To bad it started to rain later in the evening so we went home pretty early. I didn’t bring my camera so sadly I have no pictures from the party. I should have taken some pictures with my cellphone but I just didn’t think of it while I was there

Today I have been cleaning and fixing to make my apartment look nice when my parents come here. They will stay here for a night when they are visiting Stockholm in a few weeks. Soon I am taking the train back to Norrköping and will stay there for another month. It was wonderful to be back in Stockholm and it was great to see Jenny, Peter and Adam again.

A friend in need, is a friend indeed

Today I was in big trouble.  I was packing for a midsummer holiday in the country and seven weeks in Östergötland when I realised:

  1. I don’t have bags enough to carry all the stuff I need to bring.
  2. Even with bags there is no chance on earth I will be able to carry all the stuff on a train.

After a lot of phone calls, messaging and so on I am now set to go and that is all thanks to my friends. I wouldn’t have solved this without them. Thanks to Jenny who lent me a bag everything is now packed. Thanks to Josefin, Björn and Josefins father, who brought my stuff on his way home from work, most of my stuff is already at Josefins place where I am gonna spend the midsummer holiday. And thanks to Tobias I will get my things to Östergötland on Saturday.

I love my friends and would be nothing without them.

So, tomorrow I am leaving Stockholm for atleast seven weeks in Östergötland. I will work most of the time but also spend some time with friends and family. The bad things about leaving now is that Stockholm is beautiful in the summer but I will maybe go back for a weekend or so when I have a saturday off work.
